Security Officer Perimeter Observation Job in Reading, Pennsylvania

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a secure environment. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly with employees and visitors, and use technology to document activity. Position Type: Part Time
Pay Rate: $16.50 / Hour
Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204):
Proficiency in using computers or tablets is essential. Candidates should be comfortable navigating software applications, entering data, and utilizing communication tools effectively.
Customer Service Experience (B219):
A background in customer service is required. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills, the ability to handle inquiries and complaints professionally, and a commitment to providing excellent service to clients and visitors.
3. Security Experience:
Candidates must have a minimum of 6 months of relevant security experience (C112). This experience should include, but is not limited to, roles in security personnel, surveillance, access control, or any related field that demonstrates the ability to manage security protocols effectively.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients, employees, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of manufacturing and industrial buildings, production areas, loading docks, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and maintain accurate logs and records in accordance with site-specific procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting actions taken.
- Help support a professional, orderly environment by observing site operations, reporting hazards or maintenance concerns, and following Allied Universal and client protocols.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
