As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will help maintain a secure environment by managing access points, verifying credentials, monitoring activity, and communicating professionally with employees, visitors, and delivery personnel. You will support security-related operations through a visible presence and responsive service. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials, manage visitor and contractor entry, and maintain accurate access-related logs for a logistics and distribution location.
- Screen incoming and outgoing traffic as directed, assist with vehicle and delivery access procedures, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site-specific procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including the business, perimeter, docks, parking areas, and access points, to help to deter unauthorized activity.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
