Security Officer Armed Patrol Response FT Job in Reston, Virginia

As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Response in Reston, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. You will communicate professionally, respond to security-related concerns, and deliver service with integrity. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and clients while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
- Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, entry points, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as applicable, and report suspicious activity or policy violations to site leadership and/or law enforcement.
- Maintain required armed post qualifications, carry assigned equipment in accordance with applicable laws and Allied Universal policies, and complete accurate incident reports and patrol documentation.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least two years of security-related experience is required.
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- Possess a Virginia DCJS license.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- A valid firearms permit is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
