Security Officer Full Time Access Control Coordinator Job in Richmond, Virginia

As a Security Officer Full Time Access Control Coordinator in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and help maintain a secure environment for employees and visitors. You will deliver exceptional customer service, communicate professionally, and support security-related operations with integrity. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and delivery partners at a technology and telecommunications location by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials, manage visitor registration, and document entry and exit activity in accordance with site requirements.
- Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through established communication channels.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, restricted areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
- Prepare accurate reports and maintain logs of incidents, visitor activity, access-control exceptions, and other security-related observations.
Minimum Requirements:
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
