Security Officer Unarmed Full Time Afternoons

As a Security Officer Patrol Access Control in Salem, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a utilities location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment through strong customer service and communication. In this role, you will contribute to daily site operations with agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity while putting people first.

- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a utilities location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns through proper channels.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or unusual conditions.
- Monitor entry and exit activity, verify credentials as directed by site policies, and report access issues, maintenance concerns, and/or suspicious behavior.
- Support daily operations by communicating with site contacts, following post orders, and completing required logs, reports, and other security-related documentation.
Minimum Requirements:
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Comfortable use of a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
