Security Officer - Government Patrol

As a Security Officer - Government Patrol in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents while maintaining a strong presence. You will conduct routine patrols, offer customer service, and communicate with visitors and employees to support a secure environment. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the premises and surrounding areas to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report on security-related matters, documenting and communicating incidents as required by site procedures.
• Support access control measures, monitor entry and exit points, and interact with employees and/or visitors in accordance with location protocols.
• Collaborate with local authorities and emergency responders when applicable, following established guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A valid Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
• Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
