As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol galleries, public spaces, and surrounding areas to help maintain a welcoming environment for visitors, staff, and collections. You will remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, respond to concerns, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to museum visitors, staff, volunteers, and vendors while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout galleries, public areas, offices, entrances, exterior grounds, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with entry procedures, and report unusual conditions, suspicious behavior, or policy violations to appropriate site contacts.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
- Support the protection of artwork, exhibits, property, and museum operations by maintaining detailed activity logs, completing incident reports, and communicating clearly with Allied Universal leadership and client representatives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
