Security Officer - Retail Unarmed Driver

As a Security Officer - Retail Unarmed Driver in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a bustling retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents and provide reassurance to guests and tenants. This is a driving post, where you will interact with the public, deliver exceptional customer service, and uphold our values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first while supporting a welcoming environment for all.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support a secure environment.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
• Observe and report any suspicious activity, hazards or maintenance needs encountered during patrols.
• Assist with access control and enforce site policies in accordance with client and Allied Universal guidelines.
• Support emergency response efforts and assist first responders as required.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors and Allied Universal management regarding incidents and daily activities.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
