Security Officer Healthcare Entry Screener Job in Silver Spring, Maryland

As a Security Officer Healthcare Entry Screener in Silver Spring, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener at a government location, you will help support a secure and welcoming environment by screening visitors, monitoring access points, and communicating professionally with the public and site personnel. You will remain visible to help deter incidents, follow established procedures, and contribute to a dependable operation. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
- Screen individuals and personal belongings using screening equipment and established procedures; identify and report prohibited items, irregularities, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
- Verify identification, credentials, and authorization for entry in accordance with site-specific access requirements; maintain accurate visitor and screening-related records.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and notifying appropriate authorities as directed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and the perimeter, as applicable, while reporting hazards, suspicious activity, and maintenance concerns.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least 2 years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
- Have at least 5 years of security-related experience.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Access control or badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
