Security Officer Patrol Operations Job in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

As a Security Officer Patrol Operations in Sioux Falls, SD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a retail and mall location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service to visitors and staff. You will respond to concerns, communicate clearly, and support a welcoming environment. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and staff while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies at a retail and mall location.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior common areas, exterior walkways, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and observe for unusual activity, reporting incidents, hazards, and maintenance concerns in accordance with site procedures.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergency situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports documenting patrols, observations, incidents, and actions taken during the shift.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
