Security Officer Customer Service Patrol Driver Job in South Orange, New Jersey

As a Security Officer Customer Service Patrol Driver in South Orange, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol professional at a university campus, where you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide responsive customer service and communication. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license meeting Allied Universal driver policy requirements. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations across the campus in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, grounds, and the campus perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points, identify suspicious or unusual activity, and promptly report security-related concerns according to established procedures.
- Document patrol activity, incidents, and observations through clear and accurate reports, and coordinate with campus personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
