Security Officer - Gate Guard

As a Security Officer - Gate Guard in Sparks, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location, where you will monitor entry points, verify badges and credentials, and support access control processes that help promote a secure environment. You may conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service. - Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, verifying credentials, and documenting entry and exit activity at the location.
- Monitor gates, entrances, and restricted areas to help control access to the facility, screen incoming traffic, and report unusual or unauthorized activity to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around loading areas, trailer yards, warehouse spaces, and the perimeter, observing for security-related concerns and reporting maintenance issues, hazards, and/or policy violations.
- Complete logs, incident reports, and other required documentation related to deliveries, visitors, and security-related events, while communicating clearly with site personnel and/or first responders as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
