Security Officer - Alarm Event Dispatcher Job in Sterling, Virginia

As a Security Officer Alarm Event Dispatcher in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Dispatch Security Professional supporting a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will monitor alarm panels and communications systems, coordinate responses to security-related incidents, and maintain clear, timely documentation. You will serve as a trusted point of contact for personnel and visitors while helping to deter incidents through attentive monitoring and communication. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate within a technology and data center environment.
- Monitor communications systems, cameras, alarms, and access-control activity; receive calls and dispatch personnel or resources in accordance with site procedures.
- Document incidents, service requests, visitor activity, and other security-related events accurately and promptly in required logs and reporting systems.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating notifications and communications with appropriate personnel and emergency responders.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter as assigned, reporting unusual conditions, access concerns, and maintenance-related issues.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
- Possess a Guard Card or license, preferred.
- Have customer service experience, preferred.
- Have alarm panel experience, preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
