Security Officer FT - Afternoon Shifts

As a Security Officer Communications Specialist in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Dispatch Professional with Allied Universal at a dynamic tech and telecommunications location, you will monitor systems, coordinate responses to incidents and alarms, and support site operations through clear communication and strong customer service. This role offers the chance to stay engaged with technology, help maintain a secure environment, and be part of a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and guided by integrity.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a technology-focused location.
- Monitor communication systems, alarms, cameras, and/or access activity from the dispatch post, and relay information to on-site personnel in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Respond to incidents, critical situations, and/or service requests by coordinating resources, documenting key details, and communicating updates to the appropriate contacts.
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and incident records to support daily operations, investigations, and/or follow-up actions.
- Conduct regular and random patrol coordination around the business and perimeter, while helping to support coverage needs as working environments and conditions vary by location.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
