Security Officer - Full Time Armed Driver Patrol Job in Sterling, Virginia

As a Security Officer Full Time Armed Driver Patrol in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Security Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a secure environment for employees and visitors. This driving post calls for professional communication, sound judgment, and responsive customer service. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities at a government location.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
- Monitor entry points and screen individuals and belongings in accordance with established procedures; verify credentials and direct visitors to appropriate locations.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using appropriate de-escalation techniques and notifying designated personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
- Prepare accurate reports and maintain required logs related to patrols, incidents, visitor activity, and other security-related matters.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least two years of security-related experience.
- A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
