Security Officer Job in Sulphur, Louisiana

As a Security Officer in Sulphur, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a chemical/petrochemical location, you will manage site entry, verify credentials, monitor access points, and help maintain a secure environment for personnel and visitors. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help deter incidents, and deliver professional customer service and communication. This driving post requires a valid driver's license. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Control access to the chemical and petrochemical location by verifying credentials, visitor authorizations, and entry requirements in accordance with site procedures.
- Monitor entry and exit points, maintain accurate visitor and contractor logs, and report access irregularities or unauthorized access attempts.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and notification procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, business areas, and perimeter locations, helping to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Minimum Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
- Possess at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
- At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
