As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor activity, conduct routine patrols, and provide exceptional customer service. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and personnel while carrying out site-specific access-control procedures and security-related policies at a maritime logistics and distribution location.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials and/or visitor authorization, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and control entry and exit for personnel, vehicles, and deliveries.
- Observe vehicle, cargo, and pedestrian activity at assigned access areas and report unusual conditions, unauthorized access attempts, or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific emergency response procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, surrounding business areas, and perimeter locations, documenting security-related observations and activities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- Possess a TSA-issued TWIC card.
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
