As a Security Officer - Gate Access in Torrance, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Allied Universal team member assigned to access control at a dynamic chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor entry points, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents. What You'll Do:

• Perform access control duties at the chemical and petrochemical location, verifying credentials and monitoring entry and exit of personnel, vehicles, and visitors.
• Assist in carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies as directed by Allied Universal and client site leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential hazards.
• Provide customer service by addressing inquiries and assisting employees, contractors, and visitors as needed.
• Document observations and incidents in daily activity reports and/or incident reports as required.
• Support emergency response activities in accordance with site-specific plans and Allied Universal guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

• Lifting up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
