As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns, document observations, and communicate clearly with team members, store associates, and shoppers. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and customers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, sales floor, entrances, exits, and perimeter to help to deter theft and other unwanted activity.
  • Monitor customer and employee activity for unusual behavior and potential policy violations, and report observations per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disputes, disturbances, medical calls, and fire or intrusion alarms.
  • Control access at designated entrances and restricted areas by observing foot traffic, verifying credentials when required, and directing visitors to the appropriate areas.
  • Provide a visible presence near high-traffic areas, registers, and merchandise displays to help to deter loss incidents.
  • Assist with incident documentation by completing written reports, shift logs, and witness statements as required.
  • Coordinate with store leadership, Allied Universal supervision, and local law enforcement when needed to support incident response and follow-up.
  • Operate radios, telephones, and other communication tools to receive calls for service and relay accurate information.
  • Support closing and opening activities as assigned, including perimeter checks, door checks, and observation of key control procedures when applicable.
  • Maintain awareness of changing conditions such as crowds, weather, and delivery activity, adjusting patrol patterns based on site-specific direction.
  • Follow all site-specific policies and Allied Universal guidelines related to appearance, customer interactions, and security-related conduct while on post.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
