What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
- Monitor entrances, screen and verify credentials, manage visitor access, and document arrivals, departures, and other security-related activity in accordance with post instructions.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations to site contacts and/or leadership as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify unusual conditions or security-related concerns.
- Support entry control operations by maintaining awareness of restricted areas, helping to enforce rules for movement throughout the location, and communicating clearly with staff and/or visitors.
Minimum Requirements:
- A tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required in accordance with COLA DPSS/DHS requirements.
- At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
