The Security Systems Specialist is responsible for the support of all physical security systems including access control, CCTV operations, and dedicated alarm systems on a global wide spectrum. This position will also serve as the point of contact for training users to operate the access control, CCTV, and alarm systems.

Basic Job Responsibilities:
Headquarters
- Responsible for formulating comprehensive training requirements for all FLS-related initiatives, for both Headquarters and Country Offices. Assumes the role of train-the-trainer, facilitating the dissemination of the programs.
- Supervise and administer the Emergency and Fire Safety Plan for WB Headquarters, ensuring alignment with local codes/regulations as well as upholding WB standards and requirements.
- Direct and supervise all aspects of fire emergency evacuation drills across WB-owned and leased facilities.
- Supervise and administer the ongoing training initiatives conducted by the FLS Team, including areas such as Emergency Warden, Staff with Disabilities and personal evacuation plan, Fire Extinguisher usage, and more.
- Provide oversight to the daily operations of the Senior Fire Marshals (SFM).
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Headquarters.
- Perform regular reviews and assessments of the FLS program-related content on the FLS website to ensure it is current and accurate.
- Monitor, maintain, and follow up on information pertaining to all fire and life safety emergencies, particularly major fire incidents in all WB facilities at headquarters and country offices.
- Provide regular updates to the FLS Program Coordinator for regular briefings to the Security Specialist-Fire Life Safety.
- Oversee the audit program for HQ FLS vendors on the effectiveness of Fire Alarm Systems Maintenance, Testing, and Inspections.
- Supervise the implementation and deployment of FM to WB-owned facilities, overseeing the incorporation of WB requirements for these sites.
Global
- Ensure the monitoring, maintenance, and completion of fire safety assessments for all Country Offices; and assist in the development of mitigation strategies aimed at enhancing compliance.
- Monitor and follow up on all fire and life safety incidents and building evacuations globally.
- Collaborate with the FLS Program Coordinator to ensure the integration of FLS principles into Country Office inspections, maintenance, and projects. Ensure the implementation of corrective measures by the respective parties.
- Provide technical expertise and advisory/consulting services to address fire and life safety concerns and challenges.
- Assists the FLS Program Coordinator in acting as a liaison between the WB's Insurance and Liability Units, Disabilities Working Group, and Occupational Health and Safety Working Group.
- Serve as support to the FLS Program Coordinator across all project stages, including short, medium, and long-term capital investment solutions for fire life safety systems at HQ offices and country offices.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including but not limited to the Fire Life Safety (FLS) Framework of Accountability and Country Office (CO) Standards.
- Conduct research, testing, and documentation of ongoing fire mitigation technologies, with the goal of practical application in-country offices as appropriate.
- Provide technical support to country offices as needed, facilitating the assessment and provision of mitigation solutions.
- Supervise country office mission travel requirements for the contracted FLS Team.
- Undertake international mission travel as necessary to fulfill the Global FLS support obligations.
- Supervise and offer necessary guidance to the Global Fire Marshal team through coordination of regular meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s degree with 7.5 years or a master’s with 5 years of experience in fire life safety-related fields is preferred, but not required.
- In Lieu of a degree, 10 years of experience with the above with interpretation and application of National and International Fire Codes and Standards (NFPA, ICC, ADA, OSHA, etc.) is preferred but not required.
- Desired but not required is an associate degree in Fire Science, Fire Life Safety, or Project Management.
- Desired but not required a current affiliation with professional organizations in the fire life safety industry (NFPA, ICC, SFPE, IAAI, etc.)
- NICET Level III certification in Fire Alarm, Water Base Fire Suppression, and Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Fire Alarm and Water Based Fire Suppression Systems preferred.
- Fire Instructor III certification by ProBoard, IFSAC, or recognized fire service academy preferred.
- Demonstrate experience with managing projects in all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous priorities, complex situations, a diverse team of employees, and client requirements on an ongoing basis.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience with operating/monitoring standalone and network fire alarm systems.
- Demonstrate familiarity with standards, best practices, regulations WB policies and procedures, and general fire life safety awareness.
- Demonstrate effective organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrate ability to conceptualize and analyze problems; identify problems and provide clear concise solutions.
- Be self-motivated and possess a strong initiative and willingness to learn along with follow-through discipline.
- Must be a team player and responsive to the needs of the organization and the operational needs, goals, and objectives of GCSSC. Requires proven examples of leadership and management skills.
- Must be able to work flexible hours outside of normal business hours to facilitate client, operational, or emergency needs. Attend meetings and undertake other ad hoc assignments as determined necessary to meet the mission objective.
- Familiarity with modern technology, emerging trends, and practical applications in a domestic and international setting.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and open-source databases
- Must have or be able to obtain a US Passport.
