Security Officer Full Time Access Operator Job in Wilmington, Delaware

As a Security Officer Full Time Access Systems Operator in Wilmington, DE, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a chemical/petrochemical location, you will help maintain a secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, managing visitor access, and documenting security-related activity. You will remain visible to help deter incidents while providing professional customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and employees by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities appropriate for a chemical and petrochemical location.
- Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying identification and credentials, managing visitor and contractor entry, issuing access materials, and documenting arrivals and departures.
- Respond to access-control concerns, incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and records related to visitor activity, contractor access, deliveries, incidents, and security-related observations.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, business areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unauthorized activity, unsecured entry points, and potential hazards.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
- Access control/badge experience is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
