Security Professional - Access Control Desk

As a Security Professional - Access Control Desk in Wilmington, DE, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and control entry points at a chemical or petrochemical location, helping to deter unauthorized access and responding to security-related incidents. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, remaining visible to help deter incidents, and delivering outstanding customer service while maintaining clear communication. You will play a key role in supporting a secure and welcoming environment, guided by our values of agility, reliability, innovation, and teamwork.

What You'll Do:

• Control access to the location by verifying credentials and monitoring ingress and egress points in compliance with site-specific protocols.
• Provide customer service by assisting employees, contractors, and visitors with inquiries related to access procedures and site navigation.
• Follow site procedures and Allied Universal guidelines for addressing security-related situations and responding to emergencies when appropriate.
• Monitor security-related systems such as cameras and alarms and report any unusual activities or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and to observe for hazards or suspicious activities.
• Prepare and submit detailed incident reports as required, documenting any security-related issues encountered during the shift.
• Collaborate with site management and emergency response personnel as needed to support access control and security-related operations at the chemical and petrochemical facility.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
