Security Officer - Visitor Registration Job in Winchester, Virginia

As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor entry points, verify access credentials, maintain a visible presence, and help deter security-related incidents. You will communicate professionally with employees, visitors, and drivers while supporting site operations through attentive access management and exceptional customer service. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Monitor access points, verify visitor, contractor, and driver credentials, maintain visitor logs, and control entry and exit in accordance with site-specific requirements.
- Assist with regulating access to loading docks, warehouse areas, trailer yards, and other restricted locations while documenting deliveries, departures, and unusual activity.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency personnel as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, business areas, perimeter, parking areas, and access points to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Minimum Requirements:
- At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
