Security Officer Supermarket Job in Brooklyn, New York

As a Security Officer Supermarket in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a retail location, where you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. You will help create a welcoming environment for guests and team members while responding to security-related concerns with professionalism. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store team members by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, receiving areas, and the exterior perimeter.
- Help to deter theft, unauthorized activity, and policy violations through a professional presence and observation of assigned areas.
- Document incidents, observations, and security-related activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
Minimum Requirements:
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Loss prevention experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
