Security Officer - Armed Patrol Vehicle Driver

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Vehicle Driver in Burgaw, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location as an armed patrol officer, monitoring assigned areas and conducting routine foot and vehicle patrols to help identify and report security-related concerns. You will remain highly visible, support staff and visitors with clear communication and customer service, and respond to incidents with professionalism and integrity. This post requires an armed guard card/license and a valid driver’s license under AU driver policy requirements.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
• Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, housing areas, grounds, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including requesting assistance, coordinating with facility staff, and documenting actions taken.
• Monitor access control points and controlled areas, checking identification and/or credentials, screening for prohibited items as directed, and logging entries and exits per post orders.
• Complete daily activity reports, incident reports, and other required documentation, and communicate observations and/or concerns to supervisors and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
• Have 6 months or more of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
• Be 21 years of age or older.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
