As a Security Officer - Medical Center Patrol in Cleveland, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will make routine rounds through corridors, entrances, and parking areas to help identify and report security-related concerns, support vaccine-related operations, and assist patients, visitors, and staff with clear, professional service. You will stay visible, respond to requests, document activity, and communicate with site teams. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical emergency calls, fire alarms, and other facility alerts, while coordinating with clinical staff and local responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, corridors, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards or policy concerns. Working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Control access at designated points by monitoring entrances, checking identification and/or visitor authorization, and directing foot traffic in accordance with site procedures.
  • Observe and report unusual activity, policy violations, and/or maintenance concerns, then complete detailed shift logs and incident reports in a timely manner.
  • Provide de-escalation support for disruptive behavior using verbal techniques and presence, requesting additional assistance when needed and following post orders.
  • Assist with lost and found, wayfinding, and visitor inquiries while maintaining a professional demeanor appropriate for a patient-care environment.
  • Operate security-related systems such as radios, telephones, access control, and video monitoring equipment, and communicate clearly with team members and site personnel.
  • Support patient watch or special observation assignments as directed, maintaining required documentation and escalation steps per site procedure.
  • Participate in required briefings and training, and follow Allied Universal and site policies for confidentiality and appropriate handling of sensitive information.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Vaccines are required for hospital posts.
  • Proof of a high school diploma and/or GED is required.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
