Juvenile Detention Officer

As a Juvenile Detention Officer in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a government location, where you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor activity, and support a professional environment through strong communication and customer service. - Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by following site-specific access control procedures, identification checks, and entry authorization protocols at a government location.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help control access, document arrivals and departures, and report unusual activity or policy concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while supporting security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, noting conditions, checking access points, and communicating observations through required reports.
- Assist with screening processes, visitor management, and/or package inspections as directed by site policies to help support order and compliance within the location.
Minimum Requirements:
- A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
- At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
