Security Officer Armed - Hospital Monitor Job in Columbia, South Carolina

As a Security Officer Armed - Hospital Monitor in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Security Officer in a healthcare setting, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. This driving position offers the opportunity to deliver exceptional customer service, communication, and teamwork while representing Allied Universal’s caring, reliable, and integrity-driven culture.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
- Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and coordinating with appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of hospital buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, support access-control procedures, and assist with directing individuals to appropriate departments or services.
- Prepare accurate reports and document incidents, observations, and actions taken in accordance with site-specific and Allied Universal procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Possess at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- Preferred: Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
