Security Officer Area Patrol Driver

As a Security Officer Area Patrol Driver in Jamaica, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer in a government transit location, where you will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support riders and staff with outstanding customer service and communication. This is a driving post, offering the opportunity to combine mobile patrol responsibilities with a people-first approach rooted in teamwork, reliability, innovation, and integrity.

- Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a public transportation location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or public agency personnel as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of bus terminals, transit hubs, parking areas, platforms, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and report security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points, restricted areas, and/or public-facing spaces to help support orderly operations, follow post orders, and address policy violations in a professional manner.
- Assist with crowd management, directional support, and/or visible presence during peak travel periods, service disruptions, special events, and other high-traffic conditions.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
- A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
