Security Officer - Access Control Specialist Full Time

As a Security Officer Access Control Specialist in Manassas, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic tech and telecommunications location, where you will monitor entry points, manage badges and visitor access, and support security-related operations with professionalism and care. In this access control role, you will remain visible to help to deter incidents, assist employees and guests, and contribute to a welcoming environment through teamwork, integrity, and strong communication.

- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by following site-specific access procedures, credential verification practices, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify badges, passes, and visitor authorizations, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas within a technology-focused location.
- Operate and monitor access control systems, visitor management tools, and related communications equipment, and document security-related events, incidents, and unusual activity.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency personnel as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, observing for security-related concerns, access issues, and conditions that could impact daily operations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- CPR and/or First Aid experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
