Allied Universal ® is hiring Security Professionals - Gate Officers for a new theme park resort in Frisco, TX. This highly visible role is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming entry experience for all guests, employees, and visitors.
Security Professionals at this site perform entrance screening operations, including guest bag checks and operation of X‑ray and magnetometer (metal detection) equipment. Additional duties include access control, preparing reports, and deterring criminal activity and misconduct while delivering exceptional customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct guest bag inspections in accordance with theme park and resort security policies
• Operate and monitor X‑ray screening equipment and walk‑through/handheld magnetometers
• Control access and egress at designated park and resort entry points
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Identify prohibited items and follow established escalation procedures
• Sound alarms or contact police or fire departments in the event of an emergency or unauthorized access
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden items
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits
• Observe departing personnel and guests to help prevent theft and protect company property
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by post orders
• Assist guests, employees, and visitors in a courteous, professional, and guest‑focused manner
• Provide clear directions and screening instructions to guests to support an efficient entry process
• Make emergency notifications as required by site post orders
QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):
• High school diploma or equivalent, or five (5) years of work experience
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
• No prior security experience required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Ability to interact cordially and professionally with the public in a high‑traffic environment
• Strong customer service skills and a commitment to guest safety
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and post orders
• Problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Active listening and situational awareness
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations accurately and efficiently
• Attention to detail and strong observational skills
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):
• Prior security or public safety experience
• Customer service or hospitality experience
• Ability to de‑escalate conflicts in a professional manner
• Experience with access control procedures and credential verification
• Experience managing crowds or directing large groups of people in event environments
• Experience operating X‑ray, magnetometer, or other screening equipment
• Knowledge of access control or emergency response procedures
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to work in a high‑volume public setting with continuous guest interaction
• Ability to perform duties in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather, including heat, cold, rain, and wind
• Ability to perform repetitive motions associated with screening, bag checks, and access control duties
• Ability to remain alert, focused, and responsive for the duration of assigned shifts
