As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Welcome Associate in Mc Lean, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.


Pay Rate: $22.40 / Hour

Mon11:00 AM - 07:00 PM

How This Role Works:

  • Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
  • Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service by greeting visitors, customers, and staff, managing access to the location, and following site-specific security-related procedures.
  • Monitor the front desk area, maintain visitor logs, issue badges or credentials as directed, and communicate access activity to appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents, service needs, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting emergency services and/or site leadership when appropriate.
  • Support loss prevention and security-related awareness by observing activity at entry points and reporting unusual behavior, policy violations, and/or suspicious circumstances.
  • Answer phones, assist with directions and general inquiries, and complete required reports, logs, and other documentation related to daily front desk operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
