Security Officer - Ferry Terminal

As a Security Officer in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a government transportation location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support daily operations through strong customer service and communication. In this role, you will work as part of a team that values reliability, agility, innovation, and integrity while serving the public in a dynamic waterfront environment.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report details according to site protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout terminals, waiting areas, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and/or maintenance concerns.
- Monitor access to restricted or controlled areas, verify credentials when required, and document visitor, contractor, and/or delivery activity in accordance with post instructions.
- Support crowd management, queue observation, and public assistance during high-traffic periods, service interruptions, and/or special events while maintaining a visible presence.
Minimum Requirements:
- A New York State Security Guard License is required.
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
