Security Officer Full Time Housing Facility

As a Security Officer Credentialed Unarmed Patrol Detail in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer in a government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or agency partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns through appropriate channels.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including interior areas, entrances, exits, common areas, and perimeter spaces, helping to deter unauthorized activity and policy violations.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify permissions when required, and support orderly movement of people throughout the location in accordance with posted rules and directives.
- Assist with de-escalation during resident and/or visitor interactions, provide clear directions, and communicate with supervisors and public sector representatives regarding security-related concerns or unusual activity.
Minimum Requirements:
- A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
