As a Security Officer - Access Control and Patrol in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to routine requests, document observations, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while delivering customer-focused service. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to site staff and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government services location.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior and exterior areas, including building entrances, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards.
• Monitor access points by observing visitor and vendor flow, verifying identification and/or authorization when required, and directing individuals to appropriate service areas in accordance with posted procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting observations, notifying appropriate contacts, and assisting first responders as directed.
• Complete daily activity logs and incident reports, communicate relevant information during shift turnovers, and support security-related audits and/or administrative requests as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Have customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
