Custom Protection Officer - Armed Patrol

As a Custom Protection Officer - Armed Patrol in Rockville, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed officer at a retail location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities at the location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, documenting security-related concerns and notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the location, including interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points, helping to identify unusual activity and/or potential policy violations.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas to help support authorized access, observe visitor activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or maintenance issues.
- Follow post orders and applicable laws related to an armed assignment, including the responsible handling of authorized equipment and timely communication with local law enforcement and/or site leadership when appropriate.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must possess one or more of the following:
- Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
- Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) or verified work experience in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field
- Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies
- A minimum of 8 or more years of service in any military branch
- Associate’s degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service
- Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
- Provide proof of high school diploma or GED.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Have at least 5 years of security-related experience.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
