As a Security Officer Patrol Associate in Salem, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic utilities location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and support access awareness and communication across the site. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to all visitors, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utility location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or unusual activity in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report conditions or concerns to the appropriate site contacts.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized access and observe site conditions.
- Monitor access points and verify entry permissions for employees, visitors, and/or vendors in accordance with site protocols and assigned post instructions.
- Document daily activities, incidents, and/or maintenance or operational concerns, and communicate relevant information during shift changes and to Allied Universal leadership.
Minimum Requirements:
- Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
