Security Officer Unarmed

As a Security Officer Patrol Associate in Salem, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a utilities location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support access activity with strong customer service and communication. In this role, you will be part of a caring team that values agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity while helping create a welcoming environment for employees and visitors.

- Provide customer service to all persons at the location by carrying out assigned security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns at the location.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials when required, and observe deliveries, visitors, and/or contractors entering or leaving sensitive operational areas.
- Support security-related operations at a utilities location by remaining alert to equipment areas, restricted zones, and environmental conditions that could impact normal site activity.
Minimum Requirements:
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required.
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
