Security Officer - Corporate Building

As a Security Officer - Corporate Building in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, where you will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support residents, staff, and visitors with professionalism and care. This role blends customer service, communication, and teamwork in a people-first environment where reliability, integrity, and innovation are valued every day.

- Provide customer service to residents, guests, staff, and/or visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related support, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including interior common areas, exterior grounds, entry points, and perimeter areas, helping to deter unauthorized activity and policy violations.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas to help support authorized access, observe resident and visitor activity, and report unusual behavior, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns.
- Assist with security-related support in a shelter environment by helping de-escalate conflicts, providing direction to visitors and residents, and following post orders and site policies during daily operations.
Minimum Requirements:
- A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
