As a Screener in a retail location, you will help support a welcoming environment by monitoring entry activity, screening visitors and/or team members, and responding to security-related concerns with professionalism. This visible role combines customer service, communication, and attention to detail while helping to discourage incidents. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access control practices, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
- Screen visitors, team members, packages, and/or personal belongings in accordance with site policies to help support a professional retail environment.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials when required, and report unauthorized or unusual activity to site leadership in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Respond to incidents, policy violations, and/or critical situations with professionalism, documenting observations and communicating relevant details to the appropriate contacts.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the store, stock areas, and perimeter, as assigned, while remaining attentive to customer service needs and security-related concerns.
Minimum Requirements:
- Security-related experience of 2+ years is required.
- A guard card/license is preferred.
- Loss prevention experience is preferred.
- Access control/badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
