As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for visitors, staff, and guests. You will report security-related concerns, assist with access control, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors at a cultural institution by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly communicating with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout galleries, public areas, offices, entrances, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy concerns.
- Monitor access points and visitor flow, verify authorized entry where applicable, and help maintain orderly operations during exhibits, programs, and special events.
- Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately in accordance with site procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
- Be able to lift more than 20 pounds, preferred.
- Have access control and badge experience, preferred.
- Have customer service experience, preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
