Security Officer - Visitor Screening

As a Security Officer - Visitor Screening in Whitakers, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer at an industrial manufacturing location, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, monitor visitor and employee traffic, and document activity using site systems. You will stay visible, communicate clearly, and support a professional experience for everyone on site while addressing security-related concerns as they arise. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, drivers, and visitors by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Control entry and exit at gates and/or lobby points by verifying identification, processing visitor and contractor check-in and check-out, issuing temporary credentials when authorized, and maintaining required access logs.
• Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems and report irregular activity, maintenance issues, and/or policy concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including supporting medical calls, fire alarms, and facility shutdown notifications per post orders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility, production areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and to identify security-related and/or operational concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
